Smoked turkery dip

Prep time: 15 minutes

Chill time: Overnight (recommended)

Yield: Approx. 4 cups

Ingredients

4 cups (1 quart) cooked dark meat turkey, pulled and bones/tendons removed

1 cup mayonnaise

½ cup liquid smoke (found in the steak sauce aisle)

1 tbsp hot sauce (such as Tabasco, adjusted to taste)

½ cup yellow onion, finely chopped (optional)

1 tsp salt (or to taste)

½ tsp black pepper (or to taste)

Instructions

Shred the Turkey: Place the dark meat turkey into a food processor. Pulse in short bursts until finely ground to the consistency of chicken salad (avoid overfilling the food processor).

Combine Base Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded turkey, mayonnaise, liquid smoke, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until smooth.

Add Onions: Fold in the finely chopped yellow onion (if using).

Season to Taste: Taste the dip and adjust the hot sauce, salt, pepper, or mayonnaise to preference.

Chill & Serve: Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate overnight to let the flavors blend.

Serving Suggestions

Classic Dip: Serve with your favorite crackers, or with carrot chips and celery sticks for a low-carb option.

Festive Turkey Ball: Shape the chilled mix into a ball and roll in chopped nuts, shredded cheese, or fresh chopped parsley before serving.

Sandwich Spread: Spread on sliced bread or rolls for a quick leftover lunch!
